Eight OL Reign Players to Join National Teams for September International Window

OL Reign has eight players joining their national teams for the upcoming international window. Alana Cook, Sofia Huerta, Emily Sonnett and Megan Rapinoe will all be representing the United States, Jordyn Huitema and Quinn will be representing Canada, Jess Fishlock will join Wales and Angelina will play with Brazil. Rose Lavelle was initially called up to the USWNT roster, but was later replaced as she continues to recover from her leg injury. A full schedule of OL Reign’s international games can be found below.

The United States Women’s National Team is set to play two friendly matches against South Africa, both of which will take place in the United States. These friendly matches mark the third and fourth all-time matchups between the two countries, with the most recent meeting coming in 2019. The second of the two matches will mark OL Reign and USWNT star Megan Rapinoe’s final match in a U.S. jersey.

Canada has two important matches against Jamaica – one in Jamaica and one in Canada. In this crucial series, Canada is battling for a place at next summer’s Olympic Games in Paris. The two sides have previously met nine times, clashing as recently as last year.

Wales will face off against Iceland and Denmark in the first ever UEFA Women’s Nations League competition. The team is ranked in League A of the competition in a group with Iceland, Denmark and Germany. This competition is a potential opportunity for Wales to guarantee a qualification place for the 2025 UEFA Women’s EURO competition.

Brazil does not have any matches set during the international window but will train with new head coach Arthur Elias.
