Angelina Called Up to Brazil Women’s National Team for September FIFA Window

Brazil Women’s National Team head coach Pia Sundhage has named 23 players to Brazil’s roster for the two matches to be played in Brazil during the September FIFA international match window. Brazil is set to play two games against Argentina.

The Brazil roster includes OL Reign midfielder Angelina. This is the third time that the 21-year-old has been called up to the senior national team. Her first call up was for Brazil’s June friendlies and most recently, Angelina played for Brazil during the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. She played in three matches with the team and made one start, contributing 183 minutes of quality playing time to Brazil’s quarterfinal finish in the Olympics.

The No. 7 ranked Brazil Women’s National Team plays their first of two matches during the September FIFA international match window on Saturday, September 18 against No. 35 ranked Argentina at Estádio José Américo de Almeida Filho, o Almeidão - João Pessoa. The teams meet again on Tuesday, September 21 at Estádio Governador Ernani Sátiro, o Amigão - Campina Grande. Game times are to be announced at a later date.

The two teams last met during the SheBelieves Cup in February of this year. Brazil came away with a dominate 4-1 win. These two matches will serve as preparation for the 2022 Copa América Femenina, which acts as South American qualification for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
