OL Féminin Preparing for PSG Derby
Olympique Lyonnais Féminin is preparing for its stiffest test of the season so far when it will face second-place Paris Saint-Germain on Friday, November 20 at noon PT. The Paris club has attempted to overthrow Lyon’s dominance in European football for years, but Les Fenottes have continued to rule the roost, claiming 14 straight French domestic titles, eight of the last nine Coupe de France trophies and five straight UEFA Women’s Champions League titles. PSG, meanwhile, bested Lyon in the 2018 Coupe de France final and has finished as the runners-up in the D1F Arkema in eight of the last ten seasons.
The two clubs will meet for the first of two league clashes this season at the Parc des Princes, with the top spot on the table up for grabs. Viewers in the United States can tune in to the match live on ESPN+ at noon PT.
OL Extends Partnership with FUS Rabat
Olympique Lyonnais announced on Monday that it had extended its partnership with Moroccan side FUS Rabat through June 30, 2023. The collaboration between the two clubs primarily focuses on the sharing of expertise between both clubs’ academies to help promote the development of local talent.
"In this difficult international context which endangers the world of sport, whether amateur or professional, we must more than ever show solidarity and mutual aid,” OL president Jean-Michel Aulas said. “This commitment to FUS Rabat, which we are reaffirming today, will enable the club to acquire the necessary means to carry out all the projects started almost a year ago. The bonds of friendship and mutual respect that our clubs have forged over the past several months will come out stronger, in terms of values and human relationships.”
In addition to owning OL Reign, OL has affiliate partnerships with clubs and football associations in China, Shanghai, Portugal, Lebanon, Senegal, Vietnam and Brazil.
